Literacy For A Lifetime
Does your school, daycare, pre-school, or church occasionally get donations or grant money? Usborne has a wonderful GRANT MATCHING program which will donate free books in addition to the amount of the grant! For example:
ABC Daycare receives a $500 grant. They decide to use it for Usborne books. Usborne will also give $250 (half of the grant amount) in free books to ABC Daycare. Overall, this organization receives $750 in free books from Usborne.
"Reach For the Stars" Fundraiser or Bookraiser
Encourage kids to read with an Usborne read-a-thon and raise money for your school or books for your library at the same time! Children are encouraged to read 30 minutes a day for 10 days and get sponsors to help them in their quest. At the end of the two week read-a-thon, the kids place an order for 50% of the money they raised for books for their own homes. They even choose the books! The other 50% can be broken down in many ways. One option is for the organization to receive 30% cash (fundraiser option) and 20% in books for their library or classrooms. Usborne will also donate an additional 10% in books, resulting in 30% in books for the school (a total of 110% of money raised). Another option (book bonanza option) is to receive all 50% in books for the school, in which case Usborne will donate an additional 15% in books to the school (a total of 115% of money raised). This great program is a win-win situation for everyone! The kids are encouraged to read and receive books for their own homes, and the school receives cash or books to promote education!
Book Fairs
